Today your local Ashfield and Mansfield Conservative group gave local issues and politics a rest to join in with local services and parades.
Officers, councillors and our members attended different services across Ashfield and Mansfield to lay wreaths and remember the fallen.
There was a mass turn out around the different areas. It was amazing to see so many people out to pay their respects to the brave servicemen and women who gave their lives for our future.
We would like to thank everyone who has worked hard to organise and arrange all the services across our areas, you have done us all proud.
President and councillor Andre Camilleri said " Remembrance Day is a significant occasion to honour and respect the brave servicemen and women who defend our way of life, many of whom have made the ultimate sacrifice.
My father, a Maltese, experienced the Siege of Malta during World War II, and my family directly witnessed the profound devastation and loss that war brings to communities. It is thanks to the courageous British forces that the island stood resilient against the Nazis; without their bravery, the outcome of the war would have been dramatically different. We will remember them. 🇬🇧🇲🇹
